Kefir water

In the summertime, we sell a lot of cold drinks. We try to cater to this trend … however, instead of a case full of sports drinks and high-fructose corn syrup sweetened sodas, we try to offer healthy, yet delicious and refreshing alternatives. One new option is Caveman Foods water kefir.

Water kefir is a lacto-fermented beverage made with water kefir grains and sugar water. It is easy to make (see below for a recipe link), and provides an abundance of probiotics to improve digestive health. Water kefir grains are not grains at all, but rather a mixture of bacteria and yeast — the term “grains” describes their appearance. Water kefir is often bubbly and has a reputation as a natural soda replacement.

Why do we want to eat or drink foods that have probiotics? There are many good reasons, but one reason is increased immune function:
